Pageflakes : Yet another Ajax Desktop
December 18, 2005
Not soon after release of Gritwire and Google’s Personlised Homepage, a developer has released of a new ajax desktop called Pageflakes. unfortunately it only works in IE (Internet Explorer).
Edit : Works fine now in Firefox and Opera
Pageflakes like most of the Ajax Desktop, features RSS reading, email checking, note taking, searching, etc.
But this also provides a developer API to allow third party module-creation. Ofcourse Google & MSN also have this feature.

Did I read it correctly? It works only in IE? I’m not going to switch browser to try it simply because I’m not going to switch browser to use it!
Umm.. I’m EngLee from enrii.blog. I’m sorry to be anonymous because I don’t find any form to fill in my details. You might want to check your commenting system.
Thank you for your post about Pageflakes.
Please note that we’re not even in Alpha yet.
What we have released so far is a Developer Release
only. When we target the general public, we will
have Firefox support.
Until then, thank you for your patience and your
understanding.
Best regards

No offense but you don’t have an excuse for not supporting FireFox. Come on man, it should be developed first on a web browser that supports todays standards. Then only a few tweaks would be needed to get IE to perform like it is supposed to. Trust me, I used to do things the hard way like you are now.
BTW: In IE it is way to buggy. You should have kept it under wraps until it is more complete. Now your damaging the reputation before it is even usable. Bad idea.

I got a comment from Christoph Janz. They will soon be releasing it out of Beta
.
There are other AJAX rich live desktops in the works as well.

Pageflakes now has Publish and Share feature. This is something brand new. Never seen on any start page so far. Publishing a page makes it public. So, everyone can see that page. You can create pages like “Home”, “About me”, “Contact”, “My posts” etc and make them public. It’s a quick and easy way to make a personal site.
The best thing is the share feature. When a page is shared with friends, together they can work on the same page. Great way to collaborate and keep team todo lists.
It looks like http://www.yoosi.com a new site.
Not applied to http://www.shizzle.nl yet?
