People take Ajax to the extreme and I think I can say that here , Writely is an word processor which allows tagging of documentsand set reader permissions . It is built with the core feature set with an ajax UI . and addd some cool web 2.0 stuffs. Documents can also be tagged for easy searches later. The ability to create PDFs directly from writely is a really useful tool that you cannot do with Word.

The tagging feature is definitely NOT the strong point of writely. Writely, is, however, simply amazing. I use it as the core word processor for most of my assignments (don’t forget to save backup copies to your hard drive, though).
I have not tested the collaboration functions, so I’m not sure how solid they are (e.g., two people edit different sections concurrentsy, and then save them at different times. Which revision takes precedence? Can it include both at the same time?)
The revisions are a nice feature. For example, I just now (~20 minutes age) accidentally clicked “Cancel” instead of “Done.” ALL THE NEW STUFF I ADDED WAS GONE! I lost hope, and decided to stop working on it. Then, while writing this comment, I remembered the revisions function! I looked, and sure enough, all those additions I had been working so hard on for two hours were back! I wouldn’t have been able to do that with Word unless I save six trillion copies of each document I worked on! Writely revisions saved my ass!
