Oh well! so I finally managed to get some leisure time. Its hard to keep track of how fast time passes by when you’re busy doing something you like.
I have been reading more about MVC and frankly speaking I am now desperate to implement it, just not bold enough to do so yet. I have however come up with a nice library of classes for the data layer and the data handling layer. OK so now you’re thinking whats that got to do with Ajax. Well every time I read more about MVC, the event handling concept for GUI apps comes up. Now traditionally speaking, this is a strict no-no when it comes to making requests to the server again and again everytime a user does something on the UI. But hey we’ve got Ajax now, just not sure if this is the way to go. It would be overkill isn’t it? Probably one of those things you’d like to add to your list of “things not to do with Ajax”. But then how about implementing and entire framework-independent event handling environment widget for the client end which contains the necessary not-so-sensitive data to handle events. Backbase does this all too well, but then again its a separate framework in itself which in a way kills the fun of developing your own widgets.
Oh! by the way, the library I mentioned above is available on request. Drop me an email if you wish to have a look. Also, I plan to upgrade the validation API to get rulesets from an XML doc (arrays make it look ugly) 😀
